Hey does anyone know what the actual range of the iPad's Bluetooth is. I need to make an app for my dad but it requires a few iPads to be able to sync or send a small file via bluetooth at a maximum range of 200 feet .... Will the Bluetooth reach that far or will it disconnect

Well test it out! I am sure it would go like 30 feet. Nothing more.

If you have a wireless headphone that work with the iPad (keyboard or whatever) test it with that! play a song then walk away till connection is lost.

now that I am thinking about this. I don't think it can go far at all. Up to 5-8 feet.

have a friend do this with you. You hold the iPad (it is your and I don't think you want someone else to run away with it) and your friend hold the keyboard and walk away slowly. As he goes make just he press random letter.

Tell him to stop if no more letter can be pressed. Repeat up to 10 time for accuracy.

i think the transmitter on the keyboard might be weak compared to an iPad. 2 iPads connected would probably work farther away... but maybe im wrong.

Would this maybe work with sharing to a mac? I've been looking for something that works that way on my iPad!

This is only a 'standard' test. The keyboard acts as a placebo in his experiment.
