    Hi there,

Is the 3g worth the extra expense? Are there any apps that require 3g in order to work? Any help would be great.

    Cheers,
    Michelle

3G device has GPS chip as well, so it's perfect for Google Maps and navigation.

That's true. If you're planning to use your iPad outside and on the street for reading some news and surf on the web or you're planning to use it as a navigation device, than 3G is really recommended.

If you live on the USA
I think it is a better deal to get the wifi version and buy MIfi from verizon, to have better high speed internet on the go

The MiFi itself is almost the same price as a 16GB iPad (WiFi model).

Go get the 3G if you plan to use the iPad in places where there is no wifi.

If you also have an iPhone, you could always run MyWi on the iPhone to share it's 3G service via wifi. At that point, your iPad is online anywhere! It does drain the iPhone battery quickly though!

Doesn't it pay itself, with the contract? so really you are just paying monthly fees of internet. Why would you even buy it an antenna without contract which kind of beats the purpose.

iPad+MIfi= Superior, Faster better internet, yes it cost $30 more than AT$T "unlimited data plan" but it is far better, more reliable and faster than AT$T service, and no limitations you will find on AT&T like 2GB limit

But then again MIFI could very well cover all your interwebz needs on your home, connect to desktop, laptop, Console and iPad
