Is it possible for an iPhone/iTouch (without 3G) to browse the internet through the 3G from an iPad?

Probably, but you'll need to make your iPad's 3G connection appear as a wifi hotspot by using a jailbroken app like MyWi, though I'm not sure if that app works for iPads yet.

Use MyWi 4.0 and problem solved. The only downside to that is MyWi 4.0 costs $20 for a commercial license, and you can't reconnect to WIFI on the iPad after using MyWi and putting the iPad to sleep (dedicated hotspot mode).

On the bright side, your iPad can last over a few days easily being a mobile hotspot...

I read somewhere that MyWi on iPad is very buggy, has anyone of you actually tried this and does it work fine for you?

MyWi 4.0 works just fine... I actually use MyWi on a daily basis.

Somewhere was probably updated a few months ago...
