iPad 3G has been successfully jailbroken only within a few hours of its launch. MuscleNerd of iPhone Dev Team has just posted couple of pictures and a video, showing a jailbroken iPad running Cydia. The upcoming Spirit userland jailbreaking software is the tool which is said to have been used to achieve this.

For all the doubters out there, this only means one thing. The untethered all device (iPhone, iPad and iPod touch) userland jailbreak is just around the corner. Make sure you have grabbed SHSH Blobs for your iDevice beforehand. A step by step guide for which can be found here.

Here is a short video which shows Cydia running on iPad 3G.

I thought Cydia would've looked better. All is good, at least the iPad is jailbroken. =P

I fear that he's gonna wait at least a month... he wants people to be able to back up their blobs...

what he doesn't realize is that even if Apple released a patch the same day, new iPads being shipped out wouldn't be shipped with the new firmware for about a month.

I hope he releases sooner than later.

Yeah; probably longer. Look how long it took from 3.1.2 to 3.1.3, and look how long it took for Apple to actually start shipping devices with 3.1.3 installed.

    I think we're safe.

    EDIT:

    Woops... I misunderstood that.

He MIGHT wait a month, I have no idea. If I were in his position, that's just something I'd consider.

Wait, he said he's not releasing for a month? Somebody saw him say he's releasing tomorrow on an IRC channel.

No, and no he just said on his twitter that wasn't him.

ALTHOUGH... On his twitter he said he'd release in a few days.

    We'll see.
