ok so when you right click on the apps there is the selection view in windows exlporer.

so of course, curiosity pulls me there. but all the applications are .ipa. now is this an archive with a .app folder in it or what?

    what is it exactly

Yeah you can. After you extract it, go into the payload folder, then you see it

I downloaded the jared app. The structure of it should give you an idea of how these are put together:

    Code:
    Jared/
            iTunesArtwork
            iTunesMetadata.plist
            Payload/
                         Jared.app/
                                        _CodeSignature/
                                                    CodeResources
                                        Images/
                                        SCInfo/
                                                   Jared.sinf
                                                   Jared.supp
                                        Sounds/
                                        CodeResources
                                        Icon.png
                                        Info.plist
                                        Jared
                                        MainWindow.nib
                                        PkgInfo
                                        ResourceRules.plist
I compared Jared with Molecules (Another itunes store app), and the structures are essentially the same. They do vary app to app though. Some apps have more data than others, and this data can be placed in different areas(within the .app directory, i'd imagine).

If they're modified to run without DRM, sure, i'd imagine that'd happen.

There seems to be DRM on these apps from what I'm noticing. Especially with the presence of .sinf and possibly encrypted or binary .plist files. They're not files formatted with xml or whatever anymore, i guess that's the important part.

ok so i renamed, extracted, then uploaded to the ipod.

it showed up. for got to change permissions at first.

once set to 755, the app just crashed.

you think with all this hype the dev-team's putting out, they JB 2.0? and if 20 is JB'n would the apps work after uploaded to 2.0?
