You may have had a bad firmware. Or just go and reinstall itunes 9.2 that may help..... What does everyone else think?

    3014 error fixed

I was getting 3014 error and also an error that said my network connection had timed out after downloading ios 4.0 on my 2G itouch.
I tried everything but what finally worked was to shut off Kaspersky internet security and download the 4.0 file, save it on my c: drive and use the "shift" + restore method so frequently described on most threads. For what it's worth. Not an expert so can't field a lot of questions.

I got the same issue when trying to downgrade my 3GS from ios4 to os3. But that was before jailbreakme.com.
