    Due to some confusion;

-This exploit affects both jailbroken as well as non-jailbroken devices (logically due to the fact is it used itself to jailbreak)
So Non-jailbroken devices are at risk of malicious pdf files, too.

Comex's Jailbreakme does not pose any security issues in it self
The recent jailbreak just makes use of the exploit to JB

-The "fix" just prompts you if a PDF file is trying to be loaded, which you can allow on trusted sites but be forewarned if a not so trusted site is also trying to without relevance.

Is this a great cause for concern?

    Meh, I'm not worried.

Apple will fix it in 4.0.2 or 4.1 and everything will be okay.

I don't go to completely random sites on my phone, anyways.
My internet usage primarily consists of YouTube, Facebook, forums, news sites, and that kinda stuff.

I think people make too big of a deal with iOS exploits.
The chances of it happening are extremely slim.
The case with 114,000 people's email addresses being exposed is the only thing I consider "news worthy."

Maybe, but then we wont have a jailbreak on 4.0.2 or 4.1

They will patch it soon, but there will be another jailbreak for iOS 4.1
There is several people working on exploits that have stayed silent.

No? Every iDevice can have this exploit run on it.

No, if you are jailbroken with Comex's new jailbreak (which ipods can)then it proves pdf files can upload code on your device

However, if you don't use the WiFi to go on random/malicious sites, you'll be fine

The way the front page words it makes it seem that the jailbreak causes the security hole, but isn't the security hole what allows the jailbreak. In other words, don't all iphones ipads and ipod touches have this flaw in the firmware?
