This is a discussion thread for the "iOS Hacker Discovers Dangerous Security Flaw in SMS For iPhone" story posted on the front page.
Read this article this morning. Kinda scary if you're still outdated enough to use carrier sms. #GoogleVoice
This feature has been on nearly every single phone, including flip phones and the like, for years, and just now we are complaining to Apple about this? I mean, even before the iPhone, this so-called "Security flaw" has been available on most phones capable of SMS Texting.
^Because it's fun to hit the most successful. And Apple's response is classic Apple: "Everyone has this issue, but if you don't like it, use iMessage."
Am I the only one that thinks iMessage sucks? Pretty blue bubbles; that's about it. Messages aren't even date sorted, which is great for when messages push to my MacBook in a completely random order upon entering WiFi, followed by larger file attachments at the end. And, there's no archives. What if I want to remember a conversation I had with my girlfriend a month ago? Nope, better hope you haven't reset your phone since then (which for some reason, I do a lot) and even so it's scrolling hell.
I don't think it sucks but they should definitely improve upon it. Add group convos, build in facetime, of course the option to archive/search and sort by date/time.
Group conversations and built in FaceTime do already exist. Just enter more than one recipient. But otherwise, definitely.
