In Mac OS X 10.7 Lion a Mac App Store was introduced. Ubuntu had a app store for a while. Just now in 10.10 they've introduced payed apps. Lion has payed apps too. That's all I got?
That has little to do with what he is talking about though. Ubuntu has had an Applications store type program and now Mac OS X Lion is getting it.
No. I highly doubt this has anything to do with Ubuntu at all. Apple's putting an App Store into OS X because of how successful it has been for iOS. The idea of having an app store to get every application without browsing around the internet for them would be very appealing to many people. This enforces the idea of Apple wanting to 'make things easier' and further control the software they put on their computers.
It's the natural progression of things, so no I don't think Apple is copying Ubuntu at all. I just find it funny that it becomes a war when something non-apple based goes through a non-apple related upgrade and people swear high and low that their copying. The same respect needs to go both ways, but I'll /end my mini rant. lol
