Every single time I restore to iOS 4, on my iPod touch 2G, it goes into recovery mode.
This happened to me with the GM also.
I tried iRecovery and no luck.
    Anybody else have this problem?

Try restoring to 3.1.3 first and then DFU restore to 4.0. And try holding home when the iPod is off then plugging it in and trying to restore.

I have the exact same problem. I've been looking around and no one seems to have this problem except for you and I. And Jawcl, I've tried that. I've downgraded to 9.1, installed 3.1.3, reinstalled 9.2, re-restored to 4.0. Same thing, recovery mode loop.

Fail, send it in to Apple and tell them of the problem.

EDIT: Actually, call them (probably tomorrow when they're not so busy

) and tell them about your problem. Go through the troubleshooting and then they'll probably have you send it in so do so and the new one should work

I think we're both out of warranty.
