I recently updated to iOS4 from 3.1.3 and i did a fresh restore since i was already jailbroken on the 3.1.3. But one thing i noticed is that iOS4 is pretty slow compared to iOS3. I mean for example once its locked if slide it to unlock and after i enter the passcode it takes a while like 1 or 2 seconds to unlock it while as iOS3 it was instantaneous. And i noticed that there was a lag while browsing the videos in it. I do have a lot of videos but iOS3 didnt lag it was smooth. iOS4 well it froze will scrolling i had to return to home and come back. And ibooks well its pretty much the same.

Is this a isolated incident or is it a general issue?

    try restarting.
try killing any multi-tasked / backgrounded apps.
did you restore to a clean firmware or a back up? backups (especially on jailbroken firmware) can cause issues.

in short, do another DFU restore to a clean iOS4. Should fix it

Honestly iOS4 on every iDevice I have runs slow. Ever on my iPhone 4.. It's just not ad snappy as any other iOS that I've had... But on topic: I believe this is just a personal incident and a good restore would help.. But do not restore from a backup, restore it ad if it was a new device. This should alleviate the problem

But doing a clean restore makes me lose all of my game saves and settings. Some games are really hard and I don't want to lose my high scores or redo missions in which I got really lucky.
