Guide posted by mstguy, this isn't my guide. I got it off iH8sn0w's tweet. Apparently you can jailbreak your iPhone 3gs with an old bootrom on iOS 4, just follow the simple steps.

No I haven't tested it, but I plan to after I wake up, so if anyone wants to wait for me, give me until about...8 or 9 pm EST.

Really now? well something must be wrong with your internet or web browser because it loads perfectly fine on mine. So try again.

So I tried it and got error 1600, and 1604, BUT I am pretty sure I know what the problem is, I didn't flash the files correctly, which I will be doing ONCE I figure out how to get back down to 3.1.3(with my SHSH blobs backed up on Cydia)

Anyone know if this method should work on ipod touch 3g with MC model?

EDIT: I dont understand how this is working? to me it seems like you arent jailbreaking 4.0, but instead you're puttting in a custom firmware?

The MC models have the new baseband so it won't work and the custom firmware is jailbreaking it lol. That's kind of what jailbreaking is like. You know how Dark_Alex did the PSP custom firmwares, well this is kind of the same concept. It's jailbreaking 4.0.
