Just make it CDMA to shut everybody up and get rid of the glass back.

YAY! IT WOULD THEN BE PERFECT!

    Finally...

I will say it right now, Apple would be crazy to manufacture a CDMA phone in a world that almost completely uses GSM.

These rumors pop up at least twice a year but nothing ever happens. Until I see Steve on stage with a "VeriPhone", I call bullsh*t on all of this.

If AT&T covers 97% or whatever of all Americans, wouldn't it be monopolizing to take over the 3% Verizon owns?

The doesn't make any sense... There are more than two U.S. Carriers. The big ones are: Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, US Cellular, and Sprint. So I highly doubt that 97% of all americans use AT&T, it's not even logical to think such a thing.

And plus, in order for them to monopolize the mobile communication device market they would have to get almost everyone to buy the iPhone, which would never happen because some people don't like the device for their own personal reasons or preferences. You have to remember all the manufactures that make cellular phones including: Samsung, Sony, LG, HTC, Blackberry, Motorola, Palm, Dell, Nokia, etc.

Looking at that code there is nothing about a CDMA iPhone, just simply 2 unreleased iPhone models (they could be the iPhone 5, etc).

I don't know much about assembly language but it looks like the function in the code is loading the names of the unreleased iDevices into registry 1 of the chip and checking if that name is the same as the device name, if it is its bypassing the activation and if its not its returning the function empty.

    So yeah nothing about CDMA.

I also call bullsh*t, there have been these rumors since back when I had my 1st gen iTouch...which was like 3 years ago might I add.

These Verizon rumors are a dime a dozen, and none of the evidence that is shown shows signs of anything.

Just buy a Verizon phone if you want a phone on Verizon that badly >w>

AT&T might cover 97% of all Americans ... but not 97% of America. There's a lot of dead spaces out there. If you travel much, or leave your city, you might not be covered.
