    Hi,

I recently jailbroke my iPod Touch 2G (MB) IOS 4.0 with redsn0w and everything works good except I find that when I play songs on my iPod Touch they jump and skip.

This is getting annoying and I was wondering if the reason for this is because I selected multitasking in the redsn0w selection box when I first installed it? Which I feel makes my iPod Touch run sluggish.

    Could it be something else?

    Please advise

Please don't post stupid questions. Sorry for the bluntness, but the post directly above yours answers your question, and you could easily find what you need to know by searching the site. However, I will help you and let you know that you CAN jailbreak iOS 4.0 using a program called redsn0w for Mac or PC. Now go Google redsn0w and have a good time jailbreaking.

As for OP, did you also enable wallpapers?

I don't know if I enabled wallpapers but I selected everything on the redsn0w selection box before installing.

EDIT: I think I did enable wallpapers as when I am on the home screen there is a wallpaper of rain drops instead of the black background.

Well pay attention to what you choose next time! Do you have a wallpaper on your springboard? If you do, and it didn't come from Winterboard, then you enabled native homescreen wallpapers.

Yeah sorry, it was. But we all have stupid questions so don't worry about it. Just read and think before you post.

Ok, well one thing that will help you speed up your device is getting rid of the icon shadows that Apple has in there. Navigate to \System\Library\CoreServices\SpringBoard.app and change the names of (or just delete, but back up) the last eight files in that folder. The names of the files are
    WallpaperGradientLandscapeBottomT.png
    WallpaperGradientLandscapeTopT.png
    WallpaperGradientPortraitBottomT.png
    WallpaperGradientPortraitTopT.png
    WallpaperIconDockShadowT.png

Or you can just disable it by running redsn0w again. Make sure that "Install Cydia" and "Enable homescreen wallpaper" are unchecked and that you still have all the other options that you want chosen.
