    iOS 4.0 downgrade...undowngradeable phone.

    Hey everyone,

The other day I decided to try out iOS4.0 and got it up and running on my phone...which I now totally regret. Upgrading to 4.0 made everything kinda laggy and it wasnt what I totally expected..and well since im already at a loss, why not downgrade to 3.1.2 and jailbreak and this is now where im stuck.

I originally set this up on my mac for 4.0 and attempted to downgrade to 3.1.2 via restore on itunes 9.2 beta. No love. I then just clicked restore, iTunes downloaded firmware 3.1.3 and no love. I then decided to reinstall a previous version of iTunes and tried again, no love and now 0 music on my macbook..yea im pissed.

Hop on over to my Win 7 computer and countless efforts of downloading quickpwn to activate my phone is pointless because every quickpwn I have downloaded will not open "quickpwn has stopped working"...

So now im sitting here 2.5 hours till I have to go to work, with a nice paperweight. Im out of ideas.

Don't we have a thread explaining that your iPhone/iPod can never be bricked through software?

If you are on iTunes beta edition for iOS 4 then go back to the publicly released one it will solve MOST ALL RESTORE PROBLEM! Took me 5 hrs of panic to realize the beta iTunes is messed up.

    Lies... all lies...

DFU is nothing to do with software and you will always be able to go into DFU mode.

lol iphone cant be bricked through os firmware unless its changing the battery like the psp and installing the custom firmware via through the system like the psp, but the iphone wasnt built to do that. so i doubt that its going to get bricked
