Is there a bootrom exploit for 3G device yet? So if I upgrade to iOS 4 will I be able to use redsn0w?

That is what I thought. So us 3G bootrom users will not be able to jailbreak for a while unless Dev-Team has a bootrom exploit to reveal. Kinda sucks, but luckily I dont mind being on official for a while.

So they didnt use any new exploit, right? Its just the same bootrom exploit that has been in use for over a year.

I am pretty sure that there is a bootrom exploit for 3rd gen devices. They are not going to release it until they have to tho. As long as we have iboot and userland jailbreaks there is no need to waste a good exploit. Hopefully, they can save it for the ipod touch 4th gen.

Yeah, I just updated to 4.0 GM on my 3rd gen. Didn't realize how much i would miss infiniboard. I'm waiting for a jailbreak now. Otherwise 4.0 is nice

Man, all of you and your iDevices are in for a blast!

I am on iOS4 Gold Master. Not on a developer account.
iPod touch 3G supports it fully.
    It does require patience!
No bugs so far but well worth it of getting it early!

If you don't want to take the risks even if you have iTunes 9.2 beta in Mac/Windows I suggest you wait for the final version! I thought my iPod was "bricked" a several times. There were several errors such as error 3014 and error 9.

But if you know what you are doing you should be fine!

EDIT: Bootrom exploit? Well then forget it! I love my devices without Cydia... If the JB is userland then I'm in.

I didn't have any problems, installed perfectly and working perfectly except the backgrounding that needs to be incorporated.
Why do you like userland more than bootrom? You do realize that userland exploits are easily patched and bootrom ones cannot be, right? The chance of another userland exploit is slim too.
EDIT: Maybe I understand what you were saying. Are you saying that you would like to see the bootrom exploit saved?

Well I've read that bootrom JB are somewhat detectable by Apple, so just incase some hardware goes wrong...
