I found the application identifiers from another icon order thread by bindle, and also the output needed. I made this (hopefully) easy to use program.

Please see the bottom of the post for important information

As the screenshot shows, you order applications by their name, which is stored in Apps.ini (post any missing ones and I'll add them). It then creates the N45AP.plist file. The file can be retrieved and saved to the iPod using SSH.

    Updates
    v1.0.1.1
    • Button to open an existing N45AP.plist file
    • Any apps in right column when iOrder is closed will still be there when iOrder is run again.
    • Apps.ini updated
    v1.0.2.0
    • Updated apps.ini
    • Fixed flicker when opening a NP45AP.plist file
    v1.1.0.0
    • Apps.ini auto updates from iOrder website
    • Installer v3 identifier added
    • Added opening and saving to iPod using SSH
    • Icon preview for all apps
    v1.2.0.2
    • Icons download automatically from iOrder website when apps.ini is updated
    • List height made larger
    v1.3.0.0
    • Added ability to hide applications
    • Corrected small typo in instructions
    • Optimized opening and saving routine
    v1.4.0.0
    • Update system totally rewritten, now has a nice GUI and uses a script to update. For the user this allows easier updating, and for a better view on update progress etc. It is far easier, and faster for me to add updates.
    • Fixed a potential bug with sftp launching.
    • New directory structure, so users only see iOrder.exe and a folder with all subfiles.

    Googlepages Bandwidth
As I thought would eventually happen, I am recieving too much bandwidth to have the site located at iorderapp.googlepages.com, and downloads (automatic updates!) are not possible when this happens. The bandwidth will probably go over the limit more often as time passes...

    Previous downloads: 3072

Awesome! But w/ Customize, you can order the icons and hide them also through a GUI on the ipod touch itself.

I saw somewhere on the forums it can't order 3rd party apps? (I don't have my iPod touch yet)

That's not true. You can place any app into an order, so long as you know its identifier. If you go into the app's folder and open info.plist, the Identifier will be in there. If you're feeling a little less adventurous, most, if not all, of the identifiers for those programs available through Installer are posted in this forum in one place or another. I remember reading that someone was planning on adding them to the Wiki, but I haven't seen that done yet. Maybe I'll do it.

I know you can place any application in any order, I was replying about the built in app that helps order icons.

Thanks, any suggestions about ease of use etc?

PS: Why does the view counter on my attachment not work?

    Edit: The views have appeared

    Hi

I used that program and find it easier than manually updating the N45AP.plist

I have uploaded a more extensive list of Apps (Configuration Settings)

    Added -

    SendSong
    SendPics
    Term-vt100
    Squid

So if you have those apps, save you having to input the information manually - just use this to save over (hope thats ok RazorM?)

You just need to rename it Apps.ini not Apps.txt the forum won't allow you to upload certain files.
