I really need to fix this.

I plugged my iphone into my laptop, and it said "invalid response received from iphone"

It's fine on my HP Mini, but not on my Dell Laptop.

    Specs:
    Laptop: Dell Inspiron 1545

    XP Pro 32-bit

    Latest iTunes.

I've tried older versions of iTunes, I made sure everything in msconfig was correct, normal boot, all services start on startup.

I've been in services, everything to do with apple/itunes is running.

    Tried system restore.

Looked for lockdown folder... there is none.

    What else should I try??????????

You may be overlooking the problem, try a different USB port on the Dell. If that doesn't work, try using another sync cable. Sounds crazy but just might work. I think I've had the same thing happen to me before, but I forgot what exactly fixed it (I think just a restart). Also, try and check to see if your USB drivers are up to date (which are most of the time part of your motherboard drivers).

Edit: By the way, don't make such a desperate title lol, just keep it simple and you'll eventually get an answer. Having a title like that will make people less likely to click this, believe it or not.

I have tried that, with three cables, all ports.
