I just got the iTouch 2nd Generation, ver. 2.1.1 (5F138). I want VOIP.

I would also like to have IntelliScreen.

I have read general information about WinPwn (for windows laptops) with the new version of Jailbreak will restore your phone, if you mess it up. However, it isn't clear if Installer.app or rather Installer beta 6 and Pwnage Tool 2.0.3 or Cyndia 2.0.2 is iTouch Generation 1 only.
I am too new to know the difference.

I have googled a lot. I have been reading the guides.

I got an email IM+ for Skype is IM only, not VOIP, so far. Really?

I am interested in sipgate.com VOIP available locally.

Here is the summary I have found out, so far:

    and,

    I have so many questions:

1, Do I wait for the newer iPod version earphones that include a microphone?

2, Do I purchase the add-on microphone and iPod touch Headset from Touchmods?

3, Do I wait for a newer Jailbreak?

    4. Is a Jailbreak "package" going to be an iTunes Store "web app"?

I think this could be a realistic question.

There is no jailbreak for the 2nd gen iPod Touch.
The only voip for it is for an application which is iPhone only, since those have built in mics.
Also the jailbreak package would not be in an iTunes Store as an app, since it allows you to change files inside the iPod. Which voids the controct that a dev has with apple to submit an app.

I was doing a little follow-up at another forum:

I went back at fring.com, and read further.

    Is this for real?

I did ask: How did you do that?

If I have an answer, I will post it here.

IntelliiScreen is an app for jailbreaked devices. From what I know(on the old 1.1.4 firmware). I haven't even seen one one for the newer firmwares.

I'll only answer the ones that I know, I don't know anything about the new headpones so I can't help you there.

3)There isn't one for the 2nd Generation yet. There might be one, but it would require you opening up the iPod and messing with the insides a bit.

4)Apple does not support the jailbreaking community. I wouldn't think they'd have an web app that has anything related to jailbreaking.

You really should've just posted an introduction, then asked for help in the right forum.

Also, remove your shoes when you post. It's customary and very cool.

    Okay, thanks.

I read some other introductions. I didn't realize I was starting a thread topic.

This is just me. This is how I am.

I don't mind a little soldering or unsoldering a jumper, for example. I have an amateur radio general class license.

However, I am not very clever at taking things apart.

If Jailbreak means I'd get IntelliScreen, I think I might do it, if safe, on the 2nd Generation iTouch.

I thought Jailbreak and the other apps could get together, perhaps with a cute name, and get on their "web apps". I read there has been a recent court ruling about applications on manufacturer's devices.

I didn't know Apple does not allow going into their files.

Maybe they could all live happily together, in some business arrangement?

Their customers have certainly made numerous requests.

    What does "remove shoes" mean?

Please don't ever call it an "iTouch".

Best Buy calls it the iTouch. But I won't do it.

Wait a minute.. it is iTouch all over the place. In advertising.

    On the internet.

The Jailbreak isn't even officail yet just rumors. You'll just have to wait for it to be released.

It's fun to call it an iTouch, people get so angry. I get a cheap giggle. Everyone lives happily ever after.
