I know you need a special ethernet cable to connect two PC's together to share files, but how(if at all) does it work if i use old Dial-up telephone ports? can it work at all? i have an old computer that doesnt have ethernet ports and actually using the phone line isnt an option, can i use a telephone port to share files/internet access? I recently installed Ubuntu(karmic) onto it, but i still have its old windows ME on the hard drive if needed.

    thanks,

I don't think dial-up modem works that way. A usb drive and transfer the files maually would be the best bet.

Lux2GS: "a simple LAN Cable" does not do it. It needs to be Double twisted pair ethernet cable if you're going to connect two PC's together.
