Is it possible to get internet on iPod Touch 2G if i don't have a router or a wireless card in my computer. My computer does have high speed internet though! ...

    Possible to tether it somehow

    OR

Possibility with new 3.0 OS and new API's that allow device communication

This is not possible, I'm afraid. However, you can pick up a wireless router pretty cheap these days.

    Good luck.

Download the "Tether" package from cydia. It's not free though.

Apple endorsed tethering uses cellular internet connectivity (3G) on the iPhone and shares it with a computer.

P.S. if you need help convincing your dad to buy a router, send me a PM and I've give you some good arguments to use.

Needs to be wireless and I had the same problem and bought the airport and it hooks right up to your internet and gives off a wireless signal and it is $100.

nope sorry you have to buy a router
but on the other hand they are relatively cheap

I personally wouldnt mind having the option of paying like 50 bucks extra at initial purchase and having 3g on for life like on the kindle
