My brother uninstalled my Wifi/internet driver.

I don't even know what my driver was called. It might be a Intel (R) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN or 3945abg. I've downloaded the drivers for both of them but none work. I got a box "Now Preforming driver installation Please Wait...." Then it'll flash then close.

I've tried running it as Administrator and Compatibly mode Xp and Vista. No luck. I can get internet with the cable but not wireless. Help please?

    I have a Dell Inspiron 6400/E1505 with Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit.

Look at the WiFi card. Copy down the Model name and number. Google that plus the word driver.

Is there a way to do it without opening the computer?

did you not get an installation disk with your router? if so then it will be on there. this may mean reinstalling and setting up the router again though. not sure.

    Assuming your on Windows 7...?
    Go to the Start Menu
    Type devmgmt.msc and click enter.

    It should open Device Manager.
You should see a little exclamation mark next to your Wifi driver, indicating its not installed.
Double click it, it should open a new window.

In the new window, up at the top, click the "Details" tab.
In the drop down menu, "Device Instance ID" should be selected.

In the large white space, it should have a long line of words and numbers you dont understand. Within this white space, look for this "word":

^ (where "XXXX" is 4 numbers that can be anything. Note this number.)

    Now go to this website:
    http://www.pcidatabase.com/

In the "Device Search" textbox, enter in the four numbers.
It should come up with one (maybe two) results.
Search for the device drivers on Google.

My Wifi driver does not show up in the device manger.

The only thing I see under the nyetworks tap is my Internet Cable driver.
