I was in my hotel room with my cousin over the break and I noticed he was getting on the internet with his laptop via ethernet. there were sockets in the wall for this, and I thought it would be cool if we could do this with the touch. is this possible?

you can connect the laptop via ethernet and share that connection by creating an ad-hoc wi-fi network on the laptop though i think.. but this is hardly helpful because why would you not be using the laptop in the 1st place

Only if you plug a Wireless Access Point into the hotel's ethernet connection.

I meant a special ethernet plug that uses the dock connector, then maybe a mod to the internet in the ipod for it to accept it?

    Step 1. Grab your ipod.
Step 2. Put it in the microwave.
    Step 3. Press 5-0-0
Step 4. Observe how the microwaves create a wifi connection!
    Step 5. Take ipod out.
LOOK A WIFI SIGNAL! It should be called 1234. Connect!
    Free internet forever

    (Science at it's best. ^-^)
