I'm going to have Ethernet-only while I'm at my dorm and I want to find out how I can get an internet connection from my iPod (maybe via USB cable) with my Sony VAIO EB series laptop. I've tried ad-hoc and it's not working for me (Windows ad hoc and Connectify).

There used to be a way. But I don't think it works anymore.

I'm trying to give my iPod internet access via my laptop's Ethernet connection.

I believe pdaNET does the opposite of what I want.

Ethernet cables are soon to be a thing of the past, get a wireless router - then you can still use ethernet cables if you wish - but also have Wifi - which is amazing!

you should be able to set up a ad hoc network on your computer (assuming that you have a wireless card) to connect to your ipod.
