I was going through SpringBoard, gathering a list of all notifications with which I could experiment. That led me to another path, then to another path, then to another path.

I think I found something very interesting, for me. Simply coding wasn't nearly challenge enough for me, but I think I found something which could just tickle my challenge bone...

Don't expect to see any code from me soon, until I crack this cookie open.

are you talking about custom URL schemes?

I found out early this year that the mobilemusicplayer repsonds to audio-player-event://?uicmd=show-purchased-playlist and also audio-player-event:// and video-player-event:// . I confirmed these by hex-editting the executables, and also the schemes are present in the Info.plist for the app ....also the mobilestore responds to itms://

You can define your schemes right there in the Info.plist, and springboard should register them. You can see it done simply in mobilemusicplayer

on the topic of everybody wanting doubletapp.app to be like the mobilemusicplayer popup controller, they gonna have to forget about it; it doesnt work in any way other than when you have the executable running as a background task. Mobilemusicplayer is always running once started (you already know this), and that's the only way the popup works, it intercpts the button gesture before passing it to supers, or GS, or not at all.

I really dig you posting the source code, great support.

on the topic of notifications: the ability to gather notifications is on of the first 'vulnerabilities' that Apple has resolved with the 2.0 firmware. And we all remember that they are going to do notifications now like push messages through their servers, towhich your device will want to connect to 24/7

Right, I knew they had their own url's, but that's not what I found. This is turning out to be much more difficult than I will want to do, so I may just give up on this thought train. Also, it's completely unrelated to the DoubleTap app.
