Yesterday when I was using my iTouch 2G 3.0, I discovered that if you hold down the off button and then press the Home button the Touch makes a digital camera shutter sound. Did I find something or am I just a noob?

Yes, you found something man. It's intentionally meant to do that. Did you know you can also take a screenshot of what you're looking at on your Touch?

It's not something new. It makes a screenshot of your iPod. You can view it in your screenshots library in 'Photos', logically.

So I'm guessing you didn't read the iPod touch Tricks & Tips thread.

    - To take a screenshot of any screen of your iPod (including the lock screen), hold the power and home buttons and release them. A white flash will appear on screen and a screenshot will appear in your Photos application.

You can go ahead and delete the picture by pressing the trash can at the bottom of the screen. This feature was available to iphone users through a hack in bossprefs in 1.1.3 and newer.

Actually I believe you have discovered something, something has to be unique about your device.

I've seen a few iPod touches in my time, and whenever I do that button combo a penguin pops up on the screen and starts dancing. Dunno why Apple do this?
