    God I hope so. My resolve is eroding away. I need a new mbp. I hope the rumors are true they are doing away with the optical drive. I don't remember the last time I used one, and I think the space could be put to better use.....like a bigger battery or second hdd.

    If they removed the SuperDrive, it would be to make the laptop more mobile. You wouldn't get much more battery life, and I doubt they'd add the option to add a second HDD/SSD.

    if you really want, you can swap your superdrive for another hdd, not sure about the warranty though))

    If the price is higher, is there any reason to buy an Ivy Bridge over a Sandy Bridge for gaming?

    I read somewhere that there's a minuscule percentage of increase in performance.
