I've been trying to install Stacks V3 (which I got from the dev site) however when I try to run the command dpkg -i stack3a.deb (i think that was the name of the deb file, not at hand atm) I get an error when unpackaging it. I placed it in var/mobile. Any ideas?

Try installing it through iFile. Just locate the file, and click install. Maybe it'll work that way.

Make sure you're in superuser mode if you're using the command line.

Check ALL capitalization on it, the smallest typo can cause an error.

its not a "can't be found" error. its an actual unpackaging error. However it doesn't work with any deb file...

Make sure you've navigated to the correct location using Terminal.

    Read the post please!

It is not a location or name problem. it finds the application! It just won't unpackage it.

Make sure you have all the packaging and unpackaging utilities installed from Cydia. I don't know what they all are but if I remember right they include Erica Utilities and posix... somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

Posting the actual error message you're getting would probably help us help you.
