When I try to install from installer it doesn't work.

    It's like this:

I'm installing the program but when it's almost done I return to the homescreen, no programs installed or anything, how do I fix it?

use timecapsule to backup installer. if you don't have timecapsule, you should, but if you don't, just backup: /VAR/mobile/library/installer
copy that folder to your computer through SSH.
    delete /Applications/Installer.app
jailbreak it but don't restore first.
that will keep all your stuff but will overwrite installer.
update installer if you need to
restore your installer with the backup you made through SSH or timecapsule.
    your problem should be solved

backing up and jailbreaking your iPod without a restore is a way to fix almost all installer problems... it should work for this.

What? No, don't do that at all.

Uninstall a few apps from Installer, and then Install BossTool. Open it and select "Free Disk Space", and then relocate your applications folder.

oh, ive never actually filled my small hard drive.
I guess I figured that installer would check first...
it doesn't seem like low disk space would simply crash installer.
well, try his idea first. anyway. I'd be interested in how it works out.
