The whole point of jailbreaking is to get the Installer on your Springboard so you can install apps and customize your ipod/iphone.

And sometimes it does take a long time for sources to refresh.

installer is used to install apps from remote sources. wich means from other websites. Recheck your wifi settings. can u connect to safari? youtube?

does the refresh bar move along?

is no. restore and jailbreak using "ziphone" or "iliberty+"

don't use ziphone. It's stolen s/w. The 'creator' can't code.
and yea, try going yo "1.1.4 jailbreak" section as your ansvver is there.

    1. Yes, it may take some time to load sources. If it keeps taking a long time, try reinstalling Installer.

    2. Installer is a packaging application that stores applications, from various "sources." The sources are where the packages are coming from, and are compiled into one easy-to-use application, Installer. To sum it up, Installer allows you to install other third party applications to your iPod touch.
