whenever i try to download something, it downloads the package, but then when it tries to install it quits to springboard and does nothing.

This usually means that you've run out of space. Have you used one of the methods to get around the 3rd party application limit?

You can do it using BossTools, but people have had varying degrees of success with it. I used this guide: http://www.ifans.com/forums/showpost.php?p=31612&postcount=15

And it worked perfectly for me.

To use it, just SSH onto your iPod using Putty, then follow the directions.

Get BossTool and then you can move the applications from the 40MB partition to the other partition. It should be under Utilities, if you have Community Sources in your Installer.

When i do the first step, it gives me an error:
    Command mv /Applications /private/var/Applications
failed with return code 1 and error message
    mv: /bin/: permission denied
    mv: /bin/: terminated with 1 (non-zero) status.Cross- device link.

Edit: Ill try using the big boss app.
Now, using the big boss app when i try transfering it to the applications directory it gives me an error and it "abnormal program termination"
