Nevermind, fixed it. SSH'd in and had to set permissions on installer.app

ssh into your ipod using winscp, there are guides in this forum explaining how to do it.

Once in, go to the /applications folder, right click on the installer.app folder, click properties, set permissions to 755, now go inside the installer.app folder and do the same for all the files inside.

That will not work. Set only the intaller withing Intaller.app to 4755.

Then I guess the 3 or 4 apps that I just installed and ran from installer were just miracles. 755 simply gives owner read, write, and execute permissions on the folder or file. It doesn't matter (as far as the program functioning) if you relax permissions on files that don't really need it.
