Ok so last night i decided to surf the web and found out that i could jailbreak my ipod touch 2g without being tethered. I know i was a little late but i went ahead and downloaded QuickFreedom and jailbroke my ipod. When I got everything installed I noticed that installer just didnt have everything in it. I see these videos where people going through hundreds of applications in installer but they just aren't there for me. If you have any suggestions on where to go or what i need to do please reply! Remember i'm new at this and have no clue so please keep the harassments to the minimum please!

    Thanks!

Well installer used to be the "old cydia" like i like to call it. There aren't too many good apps on installer anymore.

I'd just use Cydia, there are better applications on it that work for 2.x
And those people that you're talking about probably have a bunch of sources added into Installer.

Sources = Repositories you can add to installer (it adds more packages and more themes etc.)

you know how cydia is what peop0le us all the time and what people trust and what is not considered crap?

installer used to be that bak on the 1.1.x firmwares

now that its 2.x, installer sucks, the sources have all moved to cydia, and you should not use installer unless you have the cydia reorganizing loop (which u dont, dont worry)
