I am on firmware 1.1.4 with installer 3.1 and I get that thing that says Insufficient Permissions, and I get main execution failed. I know there is an Installer 3.1 Fix for this in the iClarified repo, but how am I supposed to install it when I get main execution failed?

I just want to know how to get rid of this main execution crap so I can actually download the fix and use Installer again.

    Try entering these commands:

    chown -R root:wheel /Applications/Installer.app/

    chmod 4755 /Applications/Installer.app/Installer

    It says:

    Code:
    # chown -R root:wheel /Applications/Installer.app/
chown: cannot access `/Applications/Installer.app/': No such file or directory
    # chmod 4755 /Applications/Installer.app/Installer
chmod: /Applications/Installer.app/Installer: No such file or directory

That's odd. Try replacing Installer with a download from Stephen.4's backup thread. Then re-enter those commands.

Thanks, I think it worked. I installed the backup and did the commands and it looks like it worked.
