Could you use this to do some custom adblocking? Kind of like you use a virus firewall when you don;t have an adblocker? Or does this just block navigation?

What happens if the kid just downloads a browser app?

Its blocked system-wide. There's the example of Google Chrome there. The kid will also need to enter a password to download the app. Which he likely doesn't know.

Blocking websites achieves the same result as censoring them, and we all know how that goes. The more you censor the more you are curious as to how to get around it. And what happens if the "adult" content you speak about is actually educational? Censoring will never ever ever work, and anybody who thinks it'll prevent a kid seeing websites you don't want them to see is delusional (for example, reddit uses imgur as the backbone to hosting its external images, but also has a lot of adult content, how do you define whether or not to block that website?

Yeah - because every little girl will benefit from seeing dudes doing each other. Governments sensor. Parents try to keep their kids minds from becoming polluted too soon. There's a difference.
