    Hiya everyone, Fehr here.

I recently downloaded the iPhone/Java package from Cydia, and was wondering if I myself could produce Java applications for the iPhone. I have limited experience in Java, having learned only the most basic of the basic in programming. Of course, out of due interest, I would love to port some of the "sample" applications we made in class.

Now, I believe Sun hasn't produced any Java material for the iPhone or iPoT, so I doubt I will be able to do anything. However, if I made a tiny tiny application (like the sample "Contact List" that the iPhone/Java package offered), would I be able to run it on my iPod Touch?

Sorry in advance to all the people that are... enlightened in programming, as this will, with all due respect, most likely come to you as a trivial question.

If you didn't feel like reading all of that, here's my question:

--Is it possible to build a simple Java Application that contains a basic GUI, and a menu?--

    Toodles, Fehr.

I wonder why they have a Java package on Cydia... they have a sample application called HelloJava.. but it doesn't do anything. :/

Anyway, thanks for telling me. ^^!!!

They don't need to accept, because you can't make Safari plug ins in SDK

Application can only interact by URI and it only allows (technically, theres no restrictions) to open specific resource on registrated application :> So theres possibility to make Flash (and even Java) application that open's on specific URL, problem is you need to make specific url on website so application could run.

Theres more series problem then that :> Apple not allowing any VM systems in AppStore. Flash and Java are such systems ;p

But theres a rule hole :> VM is allowed if program for that VM is included with it

but this not very economic solution ^^'
