I asked this question not too long ago but never received a definitive answer so I'll ask again.

Is it possible to either initialize your Ipod Touch online at a website or using another means other than downloading and installing iTunes on your computer?

    TIA

No, as far as i am aware you will have to install iTunes to "activate" your iPod.

Yes that part I'm aware of.
What I'd like to know is if you can use an iTunes that has been installed at a website already.

That is, you log into this website, plug in your iPod, the site detects your iPod and activates it.

    Here's what I'm getting at.
iTunes is a b*tch on my system (PC).
It takes a huge amount of disk space and uses a huge amount of PC resources.

It's a pain just to install it to initialize the iPod and then remove it.

Last time I tried to remove it I couldn't get rid of it completely. I ended up re-formatting my hard drive!

I think you catch my drift now.

Ummm... Could you give an example of what your talking about, because your explanation doesn't make much sense. How could a website gain access to the usb ports through your browser?

Surely you've got a friend (at school) or even a webguy at work - someone with Itunes that you can use their computer for a second? Parents/friends/work are all viable alternatives
