Heres the situation: OMG WTF I FOLLOW ALL THE VISTA INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS AND STILL NO JAILBREAK, so u make 10 threads pleading for help.

    -Does this sound like you?

Well here is your answer ladies and gentlemen.

Click Control Panel, then in the left panel Classic View, choose Device Manager in the new window. now assuming you know how to put ur ipod in DFU mode, please do it now (quick lesson at bottom of page) in the Device Manager List select Universal Serial Bus Controllers(the last one on my list) assuming u havent plugged in a million things that u also cant get to work look for the Unknown Device there should only be one Right Click and select Properties, then click Enable and Apply/Ok, now ur Device Manager List may blink repeatedly, thiks is because it recognizing ur ipod, wen it stops blinking(more like flickering) ur ipod should be recognized allowing u to jailbreak it. tell me how it goes

    Quick and easy DFU mode.
    Plug in iPod
    Turn off music
ensure windows sounds r on(unmuted and loud)
hold both power and home buttons until u here the usb unplug chime
let go of the power button as soon as the chime is finished keeping ur finger on the home gutton for as long as it take for the usb plugged in noise to happen
    and ur in DFU

Maybe that's why you changed it in your original post.

i didn't know we had 6th graders on the forums.

but if you would have accepted the fix, and changed politely, no problem. but then again he did whip out the massive bold text, haha

None of the instructions worked and I got the crappy "USB Not Recognised" message over and over when I connected the iPod.

Reinstalled libusb over and over, restored, it was in XP mode.

I thought it was the tethered software, but it's definantly a libusb problem.

Then, I simply disabled the Unknown Device in Control Panel and the message doesn't come up anymore.
