FCC regulations state that you are not allowed a cellular anttenna above the bottom half of the phone. Just thought I'd point that out

^Interesting. The guy could be incorrect in his assumption, then.

Anyways, great overall analysis of the design. Much more in-depth than just a simple "it's great, you'll love it" first look. Pretty technical in some areas.

I so hope Apple leaked those parts on purpose and whenever the kesnote is they reveal something totally different I still don't like the design - the back is hideous and the rest too much like the 4S.

Are you sure that's true? Because cellular antennas have been near the top of phones since the beginning of time.

yea, they made that rule up after the cancer scare, so if mobile phones do cause cancer there is a lower risk of doing so, since its father from the head.

Really great article i enjoyed it. If i'm understanding everything correctly then Apple has moved away from the philosophy that i believe i read about in the Steve Jobs book that was used in the iMac G3 of the designers creating the look and the engineering coming second. I will take functionality over looks but, i do find that to be interesting. The black one doesn't look too bad (though not great) but, the white one looks horrendous to me. I think i would be truly impressed if they managed to come up with a way to completely get rid of the glass (Atleast visually) make it on the back and have one solid back.

If one uses the phone in landscape it looks like cell reception will dramatically decrease.. (which is what normally happens with my 4S)
