I had some free time today and I managed to think of a cool way to use my dock for my iPod Touch, here are some pics.

pretty cool. if i were to do this ever, i would make it very precise and use a dermal or something similar so i could just have the dock piece interchangeable since they are all the same size around, just different sized holes for different ipods.

yeah thats sick - I would have cut it the correct size hole then another hole on top of it 2mm or so deep so the little piece just barely fits into it, and is flush with the desk. although if i ever got an ipod that doesnt fit (maybe a future one) then it would be a waste of a hole

maybe have it way lower than the top of the desk and a trap door above it! you hold a magnet over it and pull to open (magnet or metal underneath, need another ferrous substance to pull)
then when its open the dock is revealed like steve (jobs) bond.
