Hello everyone! I hope this is the proper board to post this in (I couldn't find any other suitable board) but I really need some assistance. I am using:

    -A 2G iPod Touch (Jailbroken)
    -Running on 2.2.1 Firmware

Okay, here's my situation: I Jailbroke my iPod Touch and used iTunes with no problems at all. I could manage music, download songs, sync it and all that jazz. But one day my computer got fried by an electrical storm and when I tried to sync my iPod Touch with iTunes, i wouldn't show my library or my apps on iTunes! i also cannot download newer firmware versions. If I restore my iPod Touch back to factory settings, CAN I STILL PURCHASE (FOR FREE) all the apps and songs I had on my iPod Touch before I restored back to factory settings? I need to know a positive answer, if you aren't sure what the outcome of these actions will be, please don't reply.

Thank you all so much if you can help me, I really appreciate it!

ANYTHING you buy from the appstore, you can re-download for free.

You just have to have download the apps from the same account you originally purchased them from.

Are you absolutely sure? If I do this will I be able to sync back up with iTunes?

    Seconded.

The purchases you've made in Itunes is linked to your account. As long as you log back in with that account, you can re-download your purchased items indefinitely.

Oops! One More question! Someone just told me that iTunes has updated their rules and that if you download a song and then delete it, you have to pay for it again in order to download it, is this true?

I haven't read the 'updated rules' but I know that if you get a new computer and install iTunes, you won't be able to download the song again for free, so I guess that's somewhat similar to deleting the song. But I heard some people complained to Apple about it and they got their songs back.
