Yupyup, u should have waited, buddy... I had a friend who wanted to get an iPhone a.s.a.p. but I told him to just wait a few more days bcoz of the new one that was just released... Luckily he didn't rush out and get it earlier! :D

And I agree that the range of apps for the new iPhone OS 3.0 is just amazing... Asphalt 5 seems to be a cool racing game, hopefully it has better graphics than Fastlane!

your title says you dislike the updated hardware. the hardware is massively updated, just not externally. also, the whole iPhone is supposedly coated with something to make It more finger print proof than that previous models.

Snow Leopard is going to utilize the hardware better, making it seem newer/better, kinda like Windows 7. No need to worry, if you can run Leopard, Snow Leopard is going to run great.

Most analysts and rumors DID say that there won't be a huge update to the iphone and some were even skeptic whether there was going to be a new iphone update at WWDC. After all, WWDC event is for the software department.

And there was an update, and internal spec-wise, it was a big one. A matte backing would have been nice but hey, increased memory capacity, digital compass, video recording capability, voice recognition and price drops are actually complete the package of what the iphone 3G can do. You are going to have to wait at least one more year if you want to see a complete overhaul in the design.

As for the front facing camera, the network capability in North America is still too premature for video conferencing so there really isn't a demand for these front facing cameras unless you are keen on taking your self-portraits with more ease.

Gotta give Apple a credit though because they are the first company to take advantage of these technologies in mass effect(ie. 3G). And I believe the future iPhone will be the first mass distributed smartphone to utilize the video conferencing or video messaging technology at useable efficiency in the North America.

And for your macbook, I believe you received plenty of replies accordingly.

But not so much that they did not change the casing.

I'm in the same boat as you. I just got a macbook about a month or so ago, because I really was not expecting new ones so early. I could have gotten a much better one if I waited.

The added FW is what really bugs me, WTF! and the huge price cut. I could have had an SSD with mine :(

Yeah, the introduction of the new MacBooks was totally unexpected... All the hype was on the OS 3.0 as well as the new iPhone actually, leaving the Macs in the background...

actually when you look at how often they are updated and with how long it had been a macbook update was inevitable (see the is it time to buy page on macrumors.com)

Yes, there were even rumors. Also, if you knew that a major event like WWDC was going to happen in a month time, you should have waited because Apple usually announces unexpected updates and introductions.

I completely agree with Teslanauts first post. We all knew a huge Apple event was coming.
