Where does ImportNotes look for files to import into the Note application?
I was wondering the same thing for this and ExportNotes.app. It kind of defeats the purpose of these apps if you dont know where they import from and export to.
to import notes, put the text file in your EBooks folder and start the file name with @@
to export notes, start your note with @@, it'll show up in the EBooks folder.
(you need BSD Subsystem amd Erica's Utils installed)
Here's the relevant post from the blog in More Info - I wish moyashi has the habit of linking to specific posts instead of the whole blog:
(yeah, in Japanese unfortunately, screen caps helps tho)
Hey, do you know moyashi or have some knowledge about him? I'm trying to get HistoryDL to work in 1.1.3, with absolutely no luck.
No I don't Please Register or Log in to view images plus I am still on 1.1.2
Have you tried changing the permission?
/bin/chmod -R 4755 /Applications/HistoryDL.app
or check this thread:

Thanks, I've actually tried those. I'm actually getting HistoryDL to run, it's just that it can't seem to read Safari's history. Oh well. I wish more than just this one Japanese developer made these very creative and highly useful apps.
PS - export and importnotes don't seem to work in 1.1.3 either, due to the fact that private/var/root/Media/Ebooks is what it tries to write to. I have a symlink from var/mobile/Media to var/root/Media, but nogo on either app (they open, but no file is produced or imported)
Oh wait, I think the symlink of root/library into mobile/library is what worked for HistoryDL for me, as I can see Safari's history in HistoryDL now. This is awesome!
Not the vagues idea on how to get it to read Safari's history properly, but for Export/ImportNotes, core.sh has the following settings:
Try changing it there? and set the whole EBooks folder and notes.db 755.
Oh, just saw your edit, congrats! Please Register or Log in to view images
Hm, thanks. I edited both files, and ImportNotes works now! But ExportNotes says no record found, even though I have one note that starts with @@. That's pretty odd, I would've expected the opposite, since writing the notes.db file would require writing in the root...
