Ok so I got my ipod touch2g back in September when it was first released, I bought a 1year warranty.
Now my Volume buttons on the side dont work. I've scanned the receipt, but forgot to back it up after I reformated the computer.
    Now for the question:
Can i just buy a new one with the warranty and return my old one instead without them knowing???

They will have the device in their system at the Apple Store

just take it to the location you bought it, and ask them to look you up. if you bought a warranty with them, they should have it on file somewhere. they will try to fix the current defected item before they just up and replace it.

so that means i don't need a receipt, and i only wanted to return it because it had like a billion scratches on it, and also the volume thing doesn't work including the homebutton sometimes.
