I want to update to iOS 4.0, after realizing that Broken Sword will only run on iOS 4.0, (the update just coming 3 days ago...RAGE

), can I just simply connect the iPod in and click update? Any know issues?

I've got a 32GB 3rd Gen iPod Touch, running 3.1.2 jailbroken with Spirit...

I just DFU restored up to 4.0 from my jailbroken 3.1.3 (Spirit) with no problems.

Yep, you can just update. You will lose your jailbreak of course.

If you update you won't be able to jailbreak as there's no iOS4 jailbreak yet for new bootrom devices such as yours.

First off I'd suggest you check in Cydia for a firmware spoofing program that makes apps think you are on 4.0. I used to have it but can't remember what it's called. That may work and let you stay on your current jailbroken firmware.

Or try a guide on how to do that manually.
