    im thinking of making an app,
    Its going to be for free but if its free it doesnt cost the $99 to get it in the app store right?

    lol no you have to pay apple to put apps in the appstore tes. he was just asking if you still had to even if your app was free. the answer is yes ;(

    You still have to pay for the 99 dollar cost of becoming a dev. Free or not.

    Sorry to disappoint you bud but you have to pay that $99 to put your app in the Store regardless of whether if you're gonna do it for free or you're gonna charge for it...

    To get attention. If you can make a good free app, then you'd gain a following of Fans who are interested in your apps.
