My ipod touch wont turn on or charge. A couple nights ago the battery died and I just plugged it in to charge like a normally would, the apple would pop up but then it would just turn back off and wouldn't charge. Im thinking that Il have to send it in to apple to get it fixed? If not, what else would I be able to do?

Plug it in regardless of what its doing.

While its plugged in, hold down the home and power buttons for 15 seconds.
After 15 seconds, without releasing the home button, release the power button.
Continue holding only the home button for 30 seconds, OR until your computer beeps.

When your computer beeps, let it install the drivers for your "iBoot DFU Device".
P.S - Your iPod will appear black (or white in some cases), and be unresposive. This is normail.

After the drivers install (they may already be installed), open iTunes.
It should say it recognized a device in Recovery Mode.
Press the Restore button, and wait for it to install.

The above method is called a DFU Restore, its used to fix mostly any type of problem with a near fail-safe.
