Crossover Linux is not open-source, and therefor will never be on the iPhone.

    WINE will not work.

I realize how I completely shot you down here, but it isn't going to work.

    It won't do...

First of all, iPhone don't have x86 CPU Architecture (it have ARM CPU), so you can forget about running windows apps without recompile it, Wine is only WindowsAPI emulator not a hardware emulator.

Wine is runs only on x86 and amd64 in first place (http://packages.gentoo.org/package/wine) anyway, so sorry to say but your thoughts are unrealizable.

    *facepalm*

Just... no. The processor power would need to be quadrupled to run either, and Crossover is not open source, nor ARM processor equipped.

To do all this, you would need some type of x86 emulation, which is nearly impossible on the architecture the iPhone runs.

Is that going to change the Architecture of the CPU itself? I think not. What is it that you want to run so desperately?

The point is, whether or not he was trying to convery it here, that ideas aren't needed.

All that needs to be written is code. I don't write drivers (I only recently picked up a book on device drivers under Linux for the sole purpose of learning for the iPhoneLinux project), so I'm learning and sitting on the sidelines until I can get a userland to start porting to and writing for.
