I just got a new Ipod touch. Problem is I don't know what generation it is. According to a app i have installed called Battery LED its a second gen but accourding to what Apple.com is saying I have a late 2009 model. Its 8 gigs in size and running 3.1.2. Also I can't seem to get blackra1n to work.

It is a late 2009 model.

Everyone incorrectly refers to it as the 3G iPod Touch, just for the sake of easy separation on the forums.

So, according to iPTF... you have a 3G iPod Touch.

It's not necessarily "incorrectly" referred to.

Or perhaps Apple refers to it as 'Late 2009 Model' because their top-product (the iPhone) is named the iPhone 3G. Perhaps Apple is trying to keep customers from thinking that it includes a 3G connection...

    That would almost make sense...

Apple calls it iPod Touch (late 2009)

    No 3G anywhere in there
