take it to an apple store and see what they can do. it might not be dead, but im sure you can end up with a new one since the iHome did it...they're a pretty big name, just hope their customer service is good.

I'll help you as soon as you edit "iTouch" out of that post.

Don't make a post if it's not going to be productive. All you're doing is being a jerk.

okay look man, im pretty sure you understood he meant ipod touch. not funny and not productive.

@OP, yeah you could take it to apple and they could see what the problem is, then talk to ihome and see what they can do

    Fine...

Seeing as it's a 1st gen (according to your name thingy), it should be out of warranty. So there's nothing you can do to void the warranty. If I am wrong and it is a 2G under warranty, then is it Jailbroken?
If it is, then they will most likely find out, and so sending it to Apple would be a bad idea since you have no way to un-jailbreak it.
I would talk to iHome first and see what they could do, and if they won't pay for a replacement/repair, then you may have to take it apart and do it yourself.
Hope you're good with hardware, that's all I can say...
